For a while now I've been thinking about leading a trip to Israel. As a follower of Christ there are not very many trips that appeal to me more than a trip to the Holy Land to walk in the places that Jesus walked. We're finally looking to put a trip on the calendar. So, that's where you come in.

Tonight we finished our series on the book of Jonah. We looked together at chapter 4 which concludes the chapter and sadly shares the story of Jonah's eventual rejection of God's call to be on mission. Jonah is a story of a self-sufficient, self-righteous man committed to the pursuit of his own pleasure above all things.

Wow, this video should knock your socks off. Penn, from the famous comedic duo Penn & Teller, is an atheist but he recently posted a video where he discusses an evangelistic encounter with a man and shares what made that encounter meaningful to him. I am not a fan of believers and churches who are passionately devoted to the interpretation of biblical prophecy to the exclusion of much of the rest of their faith. While I would not want to ever exclude the study of portions of scripture, I do think we can become overly fascinated with portions that simply cannot be conclusively understood
